Glass Cabs & Magazine Beads

I find life is less stressful if I do something creative every day. I don’t always want to, or have time to pull out all my beads, wire, clay or other mediums I enjoy. Some days I stick to paper and glue. I love paper crafting so making paper beads and quilling jewelry components are right up my alley.

On the right are the glass “gems” as they come out of the bag. On the left are what will eventually be magnets, or possibly more pendants.
So a few nights ago I pulled out some old magazines, but rather than make paper beads I decided to make some fridge magnets with some glass gems from the Dollar Tree and some E6000 glue. I find cutting and gluing simple projects very relaxing.

I attached the handmade bail with E6000, and make larger rings to add length since I had very few of these matching paper beads for links.
After I was done I had a nice batch of “glass gems” ready to be made into magnets. Then I realized that one of the gems looked like it would go well with a small batch of paper beads I had.
I liked the combination so I pulled out my Dollar Store ebeads and copper wire. I don’t usually use these types of cabs for actual jewelry but I was pleasantly surprised.
It came together as what I think, is a very wearable piece.
