Vintage Watch Memory Necklace

Sadly, we lost both my in-laws this spring. When family was busy sorting personal and household items for sale, I discovered several of Mom’s old watches.

As none were in working order, I thought – what could I do with them? Then I had a “lightbulb” moment – I’ll make memory necklaces for ladies in the family!

I made 4 necklaces, and selected colors/charms specific to each lady. They turned out great, and we’ve all received compliments on them.

  1. Chris, what a lovely way for your family to remember such a special person in your lives! People will probably want to hear the story behind the necklaces – and it will be nice to share some stories about her. And extra special that each necklace is personalized for the one who wears it.

  2. Laura C says:

Really nice job on those necklaces. I know they will be enjoyed and passed down as heirlooms themselves!

  3. What a wonderful keepsake gift that will make!

    Thank you for the inspiration!

I share your love of preserving family heirlooms. I made 4 necklaces using my Grandfather’s keys. Your necklaces are lovely and I know your family will cherish them.
