One of my favorite things in creating is using vintage jewelry and even non-jewelry components to make something current and wearable.

I was gifted this beautiful gold-filled baby bangle bracelet by a friend. I used it as a “pendant” for this necklace by adding various beads to dangle at the bottom and a delicate gold chain.

I am more of an intuitive designer which means I start with materials and a loose idea and then work my way through the process using by adding or subtracting components.

This project is an example of that process.

  • I like your idea of designing by adding and subtracting components, Liz! A great way to come up with interesting and creative designs. And a clever way to preserve a special bracelet too small to wear otherwise.

  • Chris Rehkop says:

Great repurposing using some very special mementos!

  • Debra Lowe says:

Super cute, I see a souvenir line in your future~

  • JulieLeake says:

    Really cute design!

  • Dianne says:

I love the organic feel of this, and the other pieces on your website. I also prefer your design method over planning and drawing out the design ahead of time, it feels more like a meditation.

  • Liz Juneau says:

Thank you Rena! The process of creating is as important as the outcome for me.

  • Liz Juneau says:

    Thanks Chris.

I am repurposed customers jewelry for themselves. Old charm bracelets into necklaces or favorite jewelry from family members into something very wearable when previously it was not.

  • Liz Juneau says:

    Thank you.

  • Liz Juneau says:

Thanks Dianne. It is a very meditative and therapeutic process for me. I may jot down ideas but the design only comes when I start somewhere and then see where that takes me.

  • Janice says:

Thank you, Liz, for your inspiration! I have my great aunt’s baby bangle and now have some great ideas for how to incorporate it into a treasure I can wear and pass on. Love it!
