Citrine Acorn Fundraiser Necklace

I am from Thousand Oaks, Ca, where we are healing from the Borderline tragedy and devastating wildfires.

As everyone knows that reads this, when a beader feels helpless and doesn’t know what to do, they make jewelry.

Initially I made angel necklaces for the Borderline families, then wanted to do something related to the fires.

The Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains ( restores native habitat and protects our green space.

The fires destroyed a grove of oaks they were painstakingly reviving, among many other things destroyed.

Therefore, I designed a necklace around a symbol of our mighty Oak trees, the acorn.

This is crocheted on nylon string, using Citrine gemstone chips.

I made 15, and 100% of the proceeds will go to

This will actually be my first time selling jewelry as well, since I’ve always just done it as a hobby.

Our community has really come together strong, spreading acts of kindness in so many ways. This is one way for me to give back.

  • A lovely symbolic idea, Teri – and so appropriate to use the acorn as part of your design. The wildfires are such a tragedy. I so empathize with using “jewelry therapy” when bad things are happening.
