Earrings in a Box

“…For I have no Red Rose to Give to Her”
My daughter found for me several of these small square boxes, she knows that I am always looking for packaging for my one-off jewellery pieces and these are just perfect for earrings and pendants.
The left wing is covering the whole opening of the box, the right wing has a triangular shape. A little magnetic button closes the box securely.
When I had made the earrings I needed a box to send them to an exhibition. They needed to sit in the box safely to look the same after their trip across the country.
I took out the padded inset, and as I keep clear plastic sheets from other packaging I thought of a clear holding device for them. To fold the plastic you measure where the lines need to go, score them on front or back with a needle tool and fold accordingly.
This can be made for any box shape.
The background looked a bit boring, so I turned a drawing of roses similar to my earring design into a black and white image, decreased the opacity with the help of the photoshop program and printed it in the size necessary for the inner of the box.
Not in the photo: I added the title of my earrings to the left wing of the lid, written with gold pen.
Title of my earrings:
“…for I have no red rose to give to her”

What a great box! I’ve never seen one like that! It shows your earrings off beautifully.
I also love your website!

That is an awesome idea for exhibitions or special display but it would be extremely time consuming to do for each purchase. Still, it turned out pretty fantastic. Good luck at the exhibition!
Fantastic!

This is a great idea!
Ingrid’s jewelry is truly one-of-a-kind. She exhibits in galleries, so it’s worth the time to make the presentation seamless for the proprietor since the display is basically out of her hands once it gets mailed off.
If you are ever in New Zealand, I highly recommend her classes – she is a very talented artist and an inspiring and thorough teacher. And she has a lovely bed and breakfast!
