For Paulette

She was beautiful, strong, smart, funny, and she was my Mom. I made this pendant in honor of my Mom, Paulette Amanda Busey, lover of all things purple, an avid gardener, wonderful interior designer, and brilliant mother of two.
I made this pendant for myself and used it as an example of the personalized metal clay pendants I offer.
I made this pendant out of fine silver PMC and an amethyst cubic zirconia. I hand cut the individual flower petals around the CZ and used them to help hold the CZ in place. I also cut a small heart out of the pendant and reused the heart on a different piece I was working on.
I lost my mom to cancer when I was 15 but over the years I have always tried to find a way to celebrate Mother’s Day.
I gave the pendant a scratch finish and patina for a warm, antique feel. I like that it looks like an heirloom that my mom might have passed down to me. It was just the kind of touch she would have loved.
I figured this year it would be fun to make something for myself that I could see her wearing.
