Watched some flame painting artists on You Tube and loved the results.

So I tried it on a piece of copper and liked the colors, although I didn’t feel I had control of the colors.

Then I made some earrings out of the copper.

The copper does develop oxidation on the back and cannot be put in pickle because it will remove the color on the reverse.

It wasn’t difficult to remove with an abrasive, but I am going to try Osmacote on back before flaming next time.

This is sometimes used in enameling so that the oxidation just brushes off.
