Upcycled Spoon Pendant

I love recycling items to create jewelry. I am drawn to rich vibrant colors. I am always looking for new materials to design my pendants and in this case it was a simple small souvenir spoon.

I was at my local thrift shop looking around and I came across some little spoons in a bag. My mind started racing and thought they would make a cute pendant (that’s pretty much how my creations start). So I bought the bag of 4 spoons and started experimenting.

I began by cutting off the handle but left just enough to curl the rest towards the pendant to make a bail. I then had some sparkly paint; in this case green.

It took about 3 coats and left to dry overnight. I filled the spoon half way with clear resin. Once the bubbles were gone I put the treble clef in the resin. I then fill the spoon with the remaining resin being careful not to overfill.

I let this dry for 2 full days. Add any chain and voila…a cute pendant made from a spoon. Enjoy.
