Trash Can Earring Display
by Tamora Bartlett.

I purchased a black mesh trash can, turned it upside down, and placed it on a lazy susan you use for a kitchen table or cabinet.
Voila, all the earrings fit into the mesh spaced evenly around the can as you like, and it turns too!!

Perfect for Earrings of Any Length
by: Rena
Thanks for sending in this great idea, Tamora!
This is a good display solution for ultra-long earrings, which are often tricky to find a display for.
You could also set a small mirror on top of the display (the “bottom” of the trash can), to catch the light and so people can hold a pair of earrings up next to their face and see the effect.
Nice Idea

I use something similar – I purchased a “match” holder – one that holds those long barbecue and fireplace matches. It, too, is mesh, and the earrings hang beautifully on it. It is smaller than the wastebasket, but still has a nice presence in my overall display. I group together earrings that are similarly priced so it’s easy for folks to know what they cost. Often you can find the lazy susan part at the hardware store. http://fireblessedart.com

This is freaking brilliant!!! I have a retail store and I am always looking for cheap, easy ways to display stuff. I have bought the standard stuff from the jewelry supply catalogs but this is eye catching and practical. My hat is off to you!
Loose earrings and mixing pairs
by: Anonymous
I’ve mulled over this idea before because of the simplicity but I always come back to the same thing…after a particularly hectic and crowded show, do you have earrings that are no longer pairs? What about mixed matched sets? What about price differences? This idea can hold tons of earrings, but are they all the same price? What about transport? Do you pack them or leave them? If you leave them and possibly “trash bag” them, what about damage to the wires and such? I’ve always loved the concept of this trash can idea, but with all these variables, I keep pushing the idea back. I appreciate your experience with this method.
Trash to treasure

Great minds think alike! We did EXACTLY the same thing a show a couple of months ago…………it works great….it’s also a great way to “carry” your product in….
Mesh Trash can

Love this idea. But I do have a question.
Do you put anything in the trashcan so that you cannot see through it? I am thinking maybe you can’t see the earrings due to all the mesh??
Fireplace Screen too!

Great idea, I just had another thought! For larger displays, maybe use a fireplace screen
