I Want Major Media Exposure: Any Ideas?

I have been trying to get Boogs Bracelets into different fashion, style, and weekly (People) magazines. Although I had a bracelet featured in the June 2012 issue of People Style Watch, I have been told over and over that the only way to bracelets into more magazines and even shows like The Today Show, I need to hire a Public Relations firm.

Unfortunately, I am not in the financial position to do this. I have done all of the social media things (twitter, linkdin pinterest, facebook., and even tried getting into different fashion blogs (but you have to pay to do this and there is no guarantee of sales).

How have others dealt with this challenge?
