Chain Maille Jewelry Display

Being on a tight budget I really needed to come up with some unique, inexpensive displays for my chain maille jewelry.

I started doing shows in the summer of 2013 and my display has changed quite a bit. It went from a mish mosh of different earring/necklace/bracelet displays to a more cohesive display.

We had saved a bunch of wine bottles to make tiki torches and candles from and those stood in the basement collecting dust as I got more involved in my maille. So, I brought some up, cleaned off the labels and painted them in chalkboard paint to give them some texture so the jewelry would not slip off.

Then, I lucked into 2 metal wine racks at our local Goodwill store and it started to come together. My husband cut up dowels and we made bracelet stands in varying heights of wood spray painted black.

One earring display is a shadow box (on sale at Michael’s) with some dowels in holes drilled through the sides. The other display was also from the local Goodwill….I think it might have been a wall display for plates. Set on end it is a nifty earring display.

I found a cute little luggage style box and made a bargain bin a la Rena for the corner of my booth. Add a photo book (again, Goodwill) and a few pre-fab busts and a display was born! Oh, and the felt cloth was a sale item at Jo-Anns – $2 a yard of the really wide felt.

Total cost of the items purchased was under $30.
I still need to order a banner and make an earring display for the times when I am under a tent outdoors so I have a feeling it will be a living entity….always changing!
