A Fabulous Way I Have Gained Attention for My Upcoming Events!
by Tara Hutchinson.

This is a great way I have learned to get attention for my upcoming events. I am having a Mother’s Day Jewelry Show and Spa Day on April 30th, and have been looking for ways to increase my attendance. (I had a holiday show that bombed for attendance.)
So, I found some ideas on Jay Baer’s convinceandconvert.com website, and this is one idea I took from it:
I am giving away $100 worth of jewelry from my Etsy website randomly to someone who gives my an idea of what they would like to see at a ‘Spa Day’.
I think it is a great way to get a spark under this event, and there are so many more ideas I got from this website that I will use:
I am going to use the website Pitchengine to create a press release for the local newspapers and radio.
I will have a live Twitter feed of the event, and I am going to create an event IN my event, by hiding $10 and $15 gift cards throughout the jewelry displays, (somehow creatively packaged) and when they are found, I will update it on Twitter.
I am going to set up an official Flickr gallery for the event, and encourage attendees to take photos and upload them. Give some cool prizes for Photo of the Day.
The last show I had I learned so much about preparation, and how to proceed with set-up to make things run smoother.
This time, I will have a rockin’ show! I wanted to share my suggestions with you.
On my blog I just listed a post for my giveaway, where I featured a collage of all the $100 items I have for sale. Check it out!
