Vintage Barn Sale - 1st Time Jewelry Vendor, by Chris Rehkop - featured on Jewelry Making Journal

Well I did it – I committed to my 1st public sale of my creations!

Several weeks ago I was asked to be a jewelry vendor (1 of 2) at a new event, a ‘vintage barn sale.’

This was a very rural location; we had 11 vendors selling country collectibles, repurposed and vintage furniture, custom metalwork, woodwork, etc.

Nearly 600 people came for this event, and many asked if we would be doing it again!

I did well in jewelry sales, and got wonderful feedback from visitors to my table, both about the quality of my creations and my display.

Though I had a small display (I’m sharing a photo), it was great fun and I’m very pleased.

    Hi Chris,
I love that you used a quilt as your table cover. It seems so appropriate for the event. Also, the color draws me in but doesn’t seem overpowering. I’m glad you did well.

Thank you Mary, I appreciate your positive comments. I’ll soon be a vendor at “Eclectic Corner,” a new shop opening next week in my town.

  • Awesome, Chris! I agree with Mary, your quilt table cover is perfect for the event, plus it’s pretty and your black display units work well with it while not competing color wise. You’re off to a great start, and good luck with your new opportunity at “Eclectic Corner”! Let us know how you’re progressing. 🙂

  • Congrats on your first show, Chris, I wish you every success, have fun with it!
