Time to Play with Your Baubles

Like King Midas and his gold coins, I love to plunge into my bowls and boxes of gemstones, playing with different combinations, and usually with Leonard Cohen singing to me in the background.

Whatever it takes…to get the imagination going.

I’ve often dreamed about using this piece of kunzite because its shape and palest pink color were tempting but I never took that next step.

The Chinese pearls had also been sitting around since my trip there several years ago but I don’t enjoy setting tiny stones so they had to wait. I finally fiddled with these pieces, trying to decide how best to combine them and show the transparency of the kunzite.

I like to add a design element to the back of my pendants so I pierced the zigzag detail which can be seen from the front.

I think it worked, in spite of the challenge. Good for me!
