Help with Making Jewelry from the Hair of a Beloved Horse

I am looking for a way to make horsehair jewelry.

My great granddaughter lost her first horse.

We saved as much of the mane & tail hairs as possible. We don’t want to send it out. We want to make it ourselves. I have 7 years making jewelry.

I need to know how or what to use to coat the hair, to keep it from fraying and breaking.

I have done a lot of research but have not come up with how to keep long term the smoothness of the hairs braided in a bracelet.

Any help / advice will be greatly appreciated.
