Copper Dragonfly Stick Barrette

I love dragonflies and thought I’d try my hand making one out of copper wire.

It took me a couple of tries before I was happy with the result.

I usually hammer texture my pieces but decided the smooth look was a better choice, maybe I’ll try texturing the next one just to see how it turns out.

It might make it reflect light better and give it more of an organic feel.

I think the bead color invokes water as well as giving it some depth.

I can see it hovering above a cool pond among the reeds on a warm summer day.
