What Chop/Cut Saw for Cutting Copper Tubing? - Discussion on Jewelry Making Journal

I use 1/8 and 1/2 inch copper tubing in my jewelry making.

I want to “progress” from the hand held tube cutter I use (e.g. from home supply stores) to a Mini Chop/Saw Cutter I read about.

Any advice, suggestions for reliable saws? Many thanks!

Any Jewelers saw and a bench pin is all you need. A tube jig won’t help with this size tube, so don’t waste your money. For a nice clean edge, you’ll want a miter cutting vice and a file with a broad flat side. For copper tubing I use whatever blade I have in my saw. Hope this helps.

I swiped my husbands pipe cutter. They come in all sizes to fit different pipes. Very easy to use.
