Buying Precious Metals Online

I’ve been looking into ordering some 14K gold and sterling silver supplies for jewelry making. However, I’m not sure how to tell if the items are real, considering I can’t touch or see the items in person.

I’m fairly clueless as for what I should expect the supplies to cost.

I have been looking for these supplies on Etsy as well as doing internet searches, but I haven’t found much that is relevant to what I’m looking for.

What signs should I look for to tell whether the items are high-quality and whether they are what they say they are?
