MP Designs Jewelry Folding Screen

I have tried many ideas and wanted to get my jewelry off of the table.
This is a great way to travel with the folding doors and peg boards.
I can move around the jewelry depending on the venue.
I custom made my jewelry cards to hold the handmade jewelry sets.
Enjoy!

Lots of display possibilities!
by: Rena
Your display looks like it has a lot of possibilities for pieces to show and ways to arrange them.
It’s such a great idea to have displays that are easy to transport, and can serve your needs well at all kinds of venues.
Thank you for sharing your booth here!
edited to add: Melinda kindly sent a new larger photo of her folding screen jewelry display – so I’ve posted it above (plus two closer views) in place of the previous smaller photo.
Thanks so much, Melinda! :o)

I would like to see a closer look at your booth style. It is difficult to really see how its made as the picture is so far back from it. Can you post a picture that is a close up? I really like what i see, but its hard to really see how creative you are.

I agree! Your pic is too small to see your lovely display. A larger pic would be nice!!
Thank you for the lovely larger photos, Melinda!

Hi all,
If you couldn’t see the photo well before, please check it now.
Melinda kindly sent a larger view – what a fantastic display idea!
Also, I didn’t notice this before, but now I see the filmy drape across the top of the screen. It adds a nice softness and can be changed for different seasons – a simple, wonderful touch.
Thanks

Thanks so much for sharing this great idea!!
Use 2 hooks instead of one
by: Iris Siegel
Looks great and utilizes space well. Only question is if the necklaces would look better if the top of the necklace was on 2 hooks instead of one. Place the hooks a few inches apart so that you could get the effect of how it looks on a neck.

Hi Melinda,
Just curious if you sell these or sell the instructional of how to build? Love it 🙂 Do you fit this on an airplane? Thanks so much Roxanne
Folding jewelry display
by: Melinda Jernigan
Thanks for the great comments. I do not have instructions to build this. I repurposed a folding screen divider by removing the screen, flipping the hinges to make it tri fold, and drilled to install large hooks, then I found pegboards and spray painted them hanging them between the openings with S hooks so I can remove them for easy storage. I hope this helps This would not fit on a plane, I put it in the back of my Ford Explorer with no problem. Hope this helps. Thanks for looking.
Any problems?
by: Kaitlyn
Love this idea!! Do you ever have any problem with wind at outdoor shows or do you not do outdoor shows? Also do you put this in the center of a 10×10 space or on the back of the booth (or wall)? What works best? Have you ever had any problem with theft with this display as opposed to when you had your jewelry on a table? Thanks!
Uses for Folding Screen
by: Melinda Jernigan
Thank you so much for your recent comments. I only use this screen indoors. It can fit in a large or small space because of the tri-fold. I usually put a small 4ft table next to it or in a living room at a home party. I also used it as a display back ground for a small booth space in a merchants mall. Theft has not been a problem but could be if you are at a large event without help. Melinda J mpdesignsjewelry.com
Theft
by: Ummie
I will be doing my first festival in May. How do your handle theft? I thought that putting 1 earring out as oppose to 2 would be a way to stop that. I will have about 1,000 earrings and cannot see putting out pairs. Each earring would be tagged by a number. Patron takes note of number, (I will supply little pencil & paper in case they want to buy more than 1 pair)sort of like shopping at IKEA.
You want get the IKEA thing if you have never shopped there. I then will pull the earring already packaged to go from my numbered bins, get payment, put in a cute little bag and its a rap. I think with the 300,000 people attending I will have to give out deli like tickets, you know the take a number type of thingee. I will have all 3 daughters working with me. Any thoughts out there?
dealing with theft
by: Melinda Jernigan
I am so glad you asked the question about theft. Having your daughters with you will be a great help. I have not done any really large shows, but did do an outdoor one. I had my daughter with me which helped for bathroom breaks and such. Not showing your earrings in pairs might be hard to sell. you are setting yourself up for a lot of unnecessary work. You may loose a couple of pairs but the personal touch, talking with your customers, greeting everyone, keeping an eye out, will work better. Have a great show. MP Designs Jewelry
This is so neat!

I am or rather my wood guy is building this as we speak. I opted to make 2 of them folding though so I could get them into my SUV.
