Here’s how to make a larks head knot, step by step.
I’m demonstrating this knot with a piece of leather cord and a hardware washer.
But you don’t have to attach your knot to a donut-shaped object.
You might attach it to a stick or a metal rod, or to another piece of cord, or to anything else you like.
Step by Step Tutorial for
Making a Larks Head Knot
First fold your cord in half:
Pass the folded cord end under the object you’ll tie your knot onto, making a sort of “loop” in the cord’s fold:
Now pick up the two cord ends, and bring them up over the object, and through the “loop” of the cord’s fold:
Grasp the two cord ends, and pull them tightly until the loop is snugged up against the object:
The larks head knot often comes in handy when you’re making jewelry! 🙂
