How to String Beads with Large Holes

Egyptian scarab beads

I have some really nice ceramic scarab beads from Egypt that I’d like to string but I don’t know what type of string to use because the holes are large, as you may be able to see from the photo.

I would also like to combine with small silver spacers or small beads with smaller holes.

Any suggestions?
