Handmade Picture Frame Earring Display

Picture Frame Style Earring Card Display
My wonderful husband created this snazzy earring display for me to put my earring cards on. It is made out of simple plywood, 1/2 inch strips of wood, and floor molding cut like a picture frame.
Here’s a closer view:
It holds almost 30 pairs of earrings, and the cards sit in a little groove that is cut into the wood.
I debuted this display a few weekends ago and sold more earrings than I ever have.
So much better than putting them in baskets (where they can get messed up when customers look through them) or just laying them on tables (where they just don’t “pop” as well).
Anyway, I’ve found lots of good ideas on this website, so I thought I’d share one.
Happy crafting! 🙂

I love it, Melanie! It’s really different, and a perfect showcase for your earrings.
The rest of your display is nice too. The overall look is artistically elegant and stylish.
High-five to your husband for his creativity and craftsmanship too! Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful idea.
Thanks!

Thanks Rena! I hope that people will like it as much as I do….my husband did a great job and it so nice to have something simple and easy to display my earrings on.
If you’d like me to send an additional picture, just let me know. I do have another one that is a bit closer.

Dear Melanie,
I just had to comment on your simply adorable jewelry. And who knew that putting it up on such a lovely display would make such a difference. Aren’t husbands wonderful? Now if I could just find mine long enough to do something as thoughtful for me!

I have seen a lot of picture frame earring displays that didn’t impress me, but that display makes them “pop”, and looks nice and tidy.
TFS!

Awesome Display

That display is wonderful, not bulky and you can leave it packed if you want to. Do you think your hubby would mind making a couple of more for cash??? I’m always interested in nice displays that are also quick to pack up and unpack, that has become so important to me. I don’t like being the last one to leave!
Thanks

My guy made my sister and I each an earring rack. He used chicken wire and put it in a frame and it opens up like a book. Holds lots of earrings. And its easily stored away for next time. Some people are so talented with thier hands and thier minds to make such things to help others. We are so Blessed with his gifted hands.
Thanks for the feedback!!!

Great idea, but you should never dispay jewelry on a dark background. It does not show off your peices as well.Check out any jewelry displays in stores you can get some amazing ideas.

I am creating/designing/figuring out, my display. I love Rena’s simple display idea since I am a one woman show. But earrings I discovered were still unsolved for me. My big turny metal display is too overwhelming, I think. Then I saw yours and you said sales went up. That was the kicker for me. I love the display. I’m going to see if my handy father, who builds furniture, will do this for me. For me it would be so difficult, for him I’d guess so easy. There isn’t a lot to it, but you need the tools. What is on the back to keep it upright? It’s needs to be space saving as well as sturdy. Love it, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the compliments!

Hi Dahlia,
Thank you for your compliments!
It is a hinge with a wood piece (like a picture frame) on the back. There is a piece of chain attached so that it doesn’t get too wide or fall open.
Hope this helps! 🙂
Best wishes with your sales! The jewelry display definitely helps my sales….
