I’ve been wanting to learn working with wire. I really want to make bracelets and rings.

I sat down and figured it out after lying in bed the night before.

I started with 16 gauge copper wire, hardened it, then used 24 gauge copper wire to wrap around the base.

I had one blue stone left in a container so I used that.

I was so excited about it. It’s not perfect, but I’ll keep practicing.

I’m so proud because I quit smoking on February 20th after being a smoker for nearly 30 years, and I feel like this bracelet is another accomplishment.

  1. Your bracelet is really nice Cathy and for your first time try, I would say you have a big accomplishment. As time goes on, you will get better at it, and learn more techniques. Your wrapping looks very good. It is even, and I give you an “A”. I personally would wear this bracelet with pride. It’s awesome.

  2. I agree with Kathy Zee – this is an excellent first wire bracelet, Catherine! Great how you figured it all out in your head, and then made it happen – that’s pretty much what I do too. You’re on a roll now. And I’m so happy for you quitting smoking – a wonderful accomplishment! 🙂

I know my wirework is a little “flimsy”, but I’m a newbie. Gotta start somewhere. I know I can only get better after some practice.
