Copper Basket Necklace

I’ve always been fascinated by baskets, bottles, boxes, in fact, containers of all kinds. Miniature versions of any of these captivate me even more.
I’ve created a few pieces of jewelry over the past 2 years or so featuring baskets and lockets. This necklace started out of an old abandoned project. I had made the basket and put it aside.
While searching through my stash for ideas and inspiration, I found it again and made this necklace. By now, I’ve also discovered Gilder’s Paste and learned a bit about perfecting the hinge on the lid. So here is another, somewhat improved, basket necklace.

I love this piece. The basket is so cool and the fact that it works is even better. Glad that you did not totally abandon this completely.
Thanks Leigh:)

Thank you Leigh,
I would not be happy if that lid didn’t work. That was the most difficult part of the necklace! I never through away parts of abandoned projects. I have bits and pieces in containers all over the place.
Love it!

I love your great little basket necklace! I never throw anything away either because sooner or later those little bits and pieces always come in handy. And I’m addicted to Gilders Paste – it’s great stuff!
