CD Rack Earring Display

An ordinary CD rack becomes a versatile earring display.

You can use very inexpensive metal CD racks for hanging your earring cards.

If you attached plastic curved backings onto your earring cards or use plastic black cards for your earrings, then you can utilize this very cheap display.

There are many different CD racks available. You can get them tall, short, wide, skinny, different colors and so much more.

You can match them to your booth decor, and they’re great for adding height.

They also provide a way for a lot of cards to be displayed in a small amount of space.

Take a look at my example picture to see how they’re used. This is a small CD rack I got from a Liquidation store for $1.00. It’s one of my cheapest displays.

You can also attach buttons, pins, magnets, rings, bracelets, and anything else to a hook and hang it from these as well.

Talk about versatile!

To save you time when setting up at a show, load up the CD rack with jewelry beforehand and place it in a small garbage bag. Put it in a box for transporting, and pull it out at your craft show all ready to go.

I love cheap, fabulous displays like this!

Kerri, this is such a fantastic idea for a versatile, inexpensive jewelry display.

It even resembles “real” jewelry displays that cost much more – but with the major difference that yours is a very smart way to get the same effect for much less money!

Jewelry artists can probably find a huge variety of CD racks at “overstock” type stores, garage sales, dollar stores, and thrift shops.

Any scuffs or imperfections on these racks could be concealed by touching up with Sharpie markers in the appropriate color, or a fresh coat of spray paint on the whole rack.

Thanks so much for sharing your great idea, Kerri!

Thought I was being original!

I have just finished two shows, using the racks, one with cards and one at which I just hung the pairs of earrings themselves.

Either way, I’ve had a time keeping the earrings on the stands, what with people handling them.

Any thoughts?

I have been racking (excuse the pun) for ideas of how to display earrings whilst still using the cards on the back – what a great idea thanks

CD earring display WOW

I just read this and immediately went out and bought a CD holder. This one has 3 sides and is perfect. It is very sturdy, looks and displays earrings on cards perfectly. I LOVE it! It is better than the ones you buy from jewelry display places. Thank you so much

I have found these, like many of my displays, in the Goodwill store for under $5.00. To get the earrings to stay on the rack, I used card stock that I cut into 1 1/2 by 3 inch shapes, fold in half and poke 2 holes for the earrings, place the folded paper over the wire and then insert the earrings and place those rubber backs on. They won’t go anywhere during traveling. The tall cd racks can blow down, so add weight the bottom during outside shows.

I read about your cd rack earring display and I remember thinking that it was a great idea, but when would I ever run across a cd rack at the Thrift Store. I had never seen one of those at a store like that before.
Today I went to the Thrift Store and lo and behold, there was a cd rack. I couldn’t remember how you had used it, but I knew I had to get it.
Just wanted to let you know that using that for earrings is a super idea and I bought it for $1.00 Thanks!

Cool, Jeri!
