Cascade Collection from Silver Scrap

Broomcast without stone
I recently stumbled on a new addiction, one that I was afraid to try but have found is a delight! The technique is broomcasting and uses up my silver scrap.
The scrap is placed in a prepared crucible and melted to a liquid state. The molten silver is then poured in a tin can filled with broom straw and water.

I never know what I am going to get and sometimes they just have to be melted down again, but most of the time I get great shapes with lots of striations.
If you have some scrap silver laying around, try it! Remember, safety first!
