Can YOU Name this Bead?

I recently bought a strand of weird looking beads from a friend. They had a label that said “gemstones” and a barcode but no name. they looked like sliced beads, half round, like an oval sliced in half. The curved half has a bit of texture and is brown-green. The flat side looks like a brown spiral, like a snail shell. If anyone knows the name, please help.
