I am very new to this I am confused about all the different types shapes of beads.  I am learning a lot as I go.

I know what my spacers are, but I need help with the stone bead shapes.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Google “bead shape chart” and you will find plenty of examples.

  2. I can’t see them too clearly in your photo but they look like some type of “twist” bead. I’ve found that terminology is quite inconsistent from vendor to vendor so I generally go by the photos.

  3. Yes, the inconsistency in naming shapes can be a problem. That’s why I’ve found it’s best to look at several websites’ charts and try to come to a consensus that makes sense to me. But there will always be a bead vendor who will call the shape by another name — in the end, like Judith, I also go by photos.

  4. Hard to tell from the photo (too blurry), but the orange beads look like twisted ovals and the red beads like ovals.
