Bakers Rack Earring Display

I have a permanent display at a local gift shop that takes handcrafted items on consignment. I have a bakers rack with necklace busts that works very well for necklaces, but not so well for smaller items.

I have just started playing with earring designs – totally addictive btw – and needed to add them to my display. I didn’t have room for a big stand up piece on the rack, so I had to think outside the box. What I ended up with makes great use of space and looks good with the rest of the display.
I took an old deck board, painted it black to coordinate with the rest of my display, screwed those big paperclip clamps from the stationary store to it, and tied the board to my rack with ribbon.

The earrings hang on business cards with safety pins through them, and the cards clip into the paper clamps. Looks good, easy to update the display but holds them securely for viewing. It might even be fairly portable for market sales, although I haven’t tried it.
