Wire Unicorn by Mary Hughes

I was asked to design a decoration for a charity raffle, the theme was unicorns. As soon as they said Unicorn, I had the image of what I wanted to make.
I made a prototype to check it worked, then made the decoration to be raffled alongside other unicorn themed items such as wax melts, a crystal, drawing and also a mediumship reading. The charity chosen was one I had nominated, Blood Bikes Wales, and is one that is very close to my heart.

The decoration is made from silver plated wire, shaped into the unicorn shape then the seed beads in rainbow colours (in the order of the rainbow) are wire wrapped to the inside with rainbow crystals for the horn. I have made several more for presents and one for my desk at work. The nice thing is each one is unique,it is impossible to make them exactly the same.

It is beautiful. I make a lot of jewelry by adding beads to a wire shape or finding. I never would have thought of that. Thanks for the inspiration. I now wonder what kind of ideas my brain can make. I love the using the rainbow for your colours. I made several head pin earrings using random colours when I needed more jewelry to take to a show. I recently took them apart to put them into chakra order but that is really not my thing. I hope you won’t mind if I change them to rainbow order.
