My addiction for jewelry making started about 10 years ago and I fell in love with wire jewelry after taking Rena’s course and learning with the fantastic DVDs by Dale cougar Armstrong. Recently I opened my own jewelry shop at Dawanda.

When I found an enchanting bird pendant at Pinterest, I thought I try my own version. Actually I want to make one with gold filled wire and ruby, emerald and sapphire gemstones, but made a prototype from copper first.

I like it so much, that I decided to create a piece of wearable jewelry out of it. But I didn’t want to just hang it onto a chain – just too simple. The cute bird should have a beautiful home. So I first made a matching toggle clasp, then the middle piece and finally came up with the idea for the necklace. I shaped and hammered the links and alternated them with bohemian beads.
