Exploring Leather – Hoops, Bracelets and Beads
by Melissa Jones.
(Annapolis, MD)

I started with simple hoops.
After seeing some interesting designs online, I decided to try my hand at making some leather jewelry.

I then added moonstone bead components.
Careful measuring and not getting my fingers in the glue are all challenges for someone who usually works with freeform wire!

I wrapped amethyst and citrine chips on natural leather cord.
I started simple, with leather hoop earrings, then added beaded components. After some experimenting, I realized that I could wire wrap beads onto thicker leather cord (3 mm).
I like where this is going!
