A new stone and I’ve got to have it!

This beauty was found at a gem show in the nearby city of Nimes. I just love the softly blended colors.

Bumblebee Jasper and Silver Pendant on silver neck ring

After exploring several designs and making multiple sketches, I decided that the perfection of Mother Nature’s creation needed the most simple treatment.

Voilà! Less is more, right?

I like the subtle color of the pashmina scarf which suggests ways of wearing this unusual piece of jewelry.

This gem comes from Mount Papandayan in West Java, Indonesia.

  • Rena Klingenberg says:

The simple design is perfect, Barbara, and silver was an excellent choice for the metal. Nature “painted” this stone beautifully!

  • Thanks Rena. This one may turn out to be a “keeper.”.

  • A real beauty and I agree. Simple is best for this beautiful stone.

  • Rita says:

Stunning Barbara! You definitely made the right choice by letting Mother Nature Take front and center with the design. Beautiful, beautiful work. Thank you for sharing.

  • Alysen says:

Très Jolie! And this is a beautiful stone.

  • Mary Anne Morrison says:

Simple elegance! I would love to see the back of this piece. The attachment of the simple bezel to the wire neck piece.

  • Barbara Jacquin says:

I do strive for simple elegance but often with a little fun thrown in! Glad you like it. I have a photo of the back, but can’t find a way to add it. (Rena, help!). I soldered a ring to each side of the top.
