Braided Hemp Wrap Bracelet

Have you ever started out with an idea in mind for a jewelry piece but ended with the piece being completely different that what you imagined?
This happens to me so often that now I just go with the flow and see where it takes me. This is the story of how one of my favorite pieces came to fruition.
When I began making hemp jewelry, I aimed to create a simple braided hemp bracelet for every day wear, particularly since I’m known to wear out a piece completely until its unwearable! I decided to used blue hemp cord with silver plated findings for this bracelet.
I love to braid and really got into the whole hemp weaving process. It turned out I love braiding a little too much because what resulted was a bracelet that was 3 times the length I wanted it to be.
At that point I just went with the flow and finished the piece with some silver findings. All I could think after I finished was “Now what?” Do I try and make it work as a bracelet, try it on my ankle, or just make it a necklace and call it a day? I tried all three and they worked out pretty well!
This is one design mishap I’m glad I stuck with. Thank you for reading!
