Flush Cutter

The flush cutter – also called a side cutter – is a jewelry tool you’ll be using a lot.

It’s called a “side cutter” because the cutting surface is on the side of the tool – unlike some cutters which have the cutting edge on the end of the tool.

And it’s called a “flush cutter” because one side of the blade is flat and leaves a nice flat (flush) surface on the wire that you’re cutting off.

The other side of the blade has a beveled surface, which enables the tool to make a nice cut – but it leaves a jagged edge on the end of the wire that’s on beveled side of the cutter.

How to Get Great Results
with Your Flush Cutter

Make sure the beveled edge of the blades is on the side where you’re cutting off the wire you’re going to get rid of.

And make sure that the flat edge of the cutting blades is on the side that you’re going to keep on the component or piece of jewelry that you’re making the cut on – where you want a nice, flush cut.

If you can only get one jewelry cutter, make sure it’s a side cutter / flush cutter.

It’s the most all-purpose jewelry cutting tool, and you’ll use it almost every time you make jewelry.
