CD Rack Reincarnated

I am forever looking in thrift stores for more unique ways to display jewelry. I found this tall 3 sided CD rack made of wrought iron on a wooden base for $4.

I painted it with cream colored spray paint to neutralize it.

It’s perfect for hanging earrings that I’ve just completed so I can see all that I have.

The height will be perfect for shows and the neutral color lets my pieces be the focus.

Thanks so much for sharing this idea! I’ve seen two iron CD racks just recently while thrifting. I kept eyeing them but it never occurred to me to use them as a display rack. I’m heading to my local thrift store today to pick up one of these handy items! ^_^

I have the same CD rack but i hang my Magnetic Hematite Jewelry on it. Since the rack is medal all the jewelry just clings right to it. It works great to display my Magnetic Hematite Jewelry !!

OK, I loved this idea about the CD rack so much that I went out to my local thrift store and bought one. Now I have a question for those of you here who use these racks for your earring displays. How do you attach your price tags and not have them over-power your earrings hanging on the rack?

I use this rack just to display earrings loosely (instead of on earring cards). So I would put all earrings at one price. I haven’t tried hanging earring cards because I figured they would hang forward. Plus I just love how they look dangling!

Jackie ~ Thanks for your comment. I thought about making the different levels different prices but then I figured people would move them around while looking at them and I’d get them all mixed up. I think earring cards would take up too much room but maybe I need to re-think it. I’ve tried those little tags tied onto earrings but they keep slipping off. Earrings are tough to display unless they are all priced the same, so maybe I need to think about doing that. It’s hard though b/c some earrings have more expensive components such as artisan handmade metals, etc. I still have a bit of time before our first Spring show, so I will consider all-the-same pricing.
