Turquoise Sunrise

I’ve been balling silver without any problems for some time, but copper seemed to give me fits every time I tried.

So, I did what I always do. I put it down, let lots of time pass and water run down the river… and then I tried again. This time I figured out that the flame I had been using simply hadn’t been hot enough!

Suddenly I could translate some of my beloved designs I had only done in silver previously in copper as well!

I had the idea for this pendant and earrings in my head for some time. A discussion with a friend about movement got me thinking and I decided to give my next piece lots of movement.

I love the idea of sun rays dancing through a leafy canopy. The ball dangles on the bottom of these earrings/pendant remind me of the rays of the sun.

Turquoise is such a happy color and it harmonizes exceptionally well with patina copper, so that was the logical choice of bead to use here. There you have it! My turquoise sunrise!
