Mermaid’s Treasure

My lovely husband picks up sea glass for me whenever he takes a recreational trip to Sydney and goes to one of the inner-harbour beaches, so I have quite a collection building up.

I offered to write a project for an Australian beading magazine for wire-wrapped sea glass, and then I had to come up with an idea!

The thought came to mind of using more rectangular pieces with wire running along each end like railroad tracks.
More brain-storming lead to my final design, which uses only the sea glass and copper wire.
Hinge-pins make the bracelet flexible and comfortable, and the earrings’ hooks are made from one of the copper ‘arms’ that hold the sea glass in place.
