Zoraida Will Be Missed

I am saddened by the passing of Zoraida Bros, one of the kindest and most talented members of our jewelry making community.
Here is the notice left on her Artfire shop by her daughter.

Zoraida said this pendant was one of her favorite pieces she created: A Hematite stone with steel wire wrapping.
I think all of us here admired her beautiful work and creative spirit.
I didn’t know her personally but liked to take a peek at her shop from time to time to see what lovely things she was currently making.

Zoraida was always finding wonderful new ways to create jewelry elements – like this intricate wire clasp.
She was an ardent supporter of Rena and the Jewelry Making Journal and of all who contributed to it.
Her web site and blog are still available at this time and I hope they will live on, honoring her artistry and generosity towards other jewelry makers:

She collaborated with her artistic daughter, Sam Bros, on some jewelry pieces like this gorgeous cuff.
She will be missed.

Zoraida also loved to create charming wire birds’ nests. She said she never tired of making them.
