The necklace started out as 22 gauge sheet copper, which was cut and sanded, after which etching design was drawn on the metal with a sharpie.

The pieces were then etched in ferric chloride for 2 hours, and cleaned. It was then heated in very hot water and dipped in a warm liver of sulfur solution for patina, and cleaned again.

I then applied a high polished and a protective coating of Clear Guard was applied to both sides. Added the amber and chain… and there she is!

For the bracelet, I started with 16 gauge copper which was formed for a base, then beads and findings added with a much smaller gauge wire. This is what I do with the left over “bead soup”.
