The Hummingbird

My Muse: Photo 3 – Iron Fence

At first glance of photo number three, a piece I created called “The Hummingbird, “came to mind. My gaze was drawn downward, following the scroll work on the fence, which I felt had similar characteristics.

The chunky details of the jasper beads I used, had a kindred feel to the round curves of the fence, going down into an organic leaf form.

My leaf took the form of faceted glass ovals. I think both the fence and my piece bring to mind a feel of mature, lush, summer leaves. .

Large square beads of jasper, along with softer rounded ones, and bright blue Australian jasper, are joined by golden, lime crystal roundels.

A large dramatic crystal oval distinguishes the drop pendant. Green iridescent glass chips are used in the earrings and necklace as well
A compliment of the man made and natural elements
