Harlow Shell Earring Display

I live about 10 minutes from the ocean and one day it occurred to me that I have an endless supply of shells around my house from many walks on the beach with my children and husband.

I matched a pair of earrings with a shell I already had. I experimented with a small engraver and drilled two holes for earrings. After I mounted the earrings I was so surprised how interesting and different it was.

To make the shell even more special for the new owner, I took a sharpie and wrote the location of the beach where the shell was found! It looked clean, coastal and very earth friendly.

I took a few more shells and sanitized them with a few drops of bleach in some water for about 30 minutes. After rinsing, drying, drilling and labeling they look so wonderful!

I am hooked on this new display idea. If it’s true that people buy for the story behind the jewelry, I think this should win a few customers over!
