Sea Anemone Glass Pendant

This sea anemone pendant is one of my favorites. I made it by drawing with small rods of glass called stringers on to the end of a flattened clear glass rod. I used borosilicate glass with the lamp work technique and an oxy/propane torch.

These are really fun to make because you can experiment with so many different color patterns and designs. With borosilicate glass, there is a very large color palette to choose from and many colors change hue depending on the type of flame you use, how hot you work the color, and many other things.

It’s always fun to see how a piece looks the next day when you pull it out of the kiln.
I love how the blues and purples came out in this one.
