Result of a mistake

I had this lovely Azurite stone that I wanted to bezel and make into a pendant. However I forgot to put a bail on the pendant, so my friends suggested setting the bezeled pendant into a pronged setting.

In a recent magazine it saw a lovely example for a round stone set into a flower setting. I adapted the idea for an oval stone which was a bit trickier but I worked it until I was satisfied and this is the result.

Mistakes can improve the original design!
