Old playing card images designed into pendant charms
I have some very old playing cards and thought they’d make good pendant charms – I took high quality color photocopies, cut out the shapes and glued them to bracelet blanks.
I then applied Diamond Glaze resin to give them a glassy finish.

With the addition of some czech glass dangles and a brass crown, “Queenie” was complete!

I also love your crown and bead dangles – perfect for this Queen!
Great antiqued metals to go with the vintage card images.
Thanks for sharing this creative project with us, Joan!

Ahhh, Photocopy

Fantastic idea to make a photocopy, so you aren’t ruining the vintage originals. I have some cards that I would like to make into jewellery (one day, one day), but I was hesitant about cutting them up. I honestly didn’t think about photocopying, that means I can also risk making mistakes while I am learning.
Thank you!

I also use the photocopy method with my other valuable ephemera, such as old photos and antique postcards. I have alot of old stuff but can’t bear to part with it – this way I can use the images over and over again! 🙂

I’ve been contemplating trying this technique and just have not done it. However, after looking at this lovely piece, I think that you have motivated me. Stunning piece and I love the idea of the playing cards!!!
