Do you buy a variety of chain styles for your handmade jewelry designs? Which ones work best or are your favorites?

Which metals are most popular with your customers (gold, silver, copper, brass)?

Which is more cost effective – make jump rings and chain or buy a roll of ready made chain and add clasps?

I buy silver plated (lead free, nickel free) chains and have not had much trouble with tarnishing. I don’t want to sell jewelry that will tarnish, but I can’t afford to invest in quality silver like sterling.
