My Craft Wire Keeps Breaking

I am enjoying jewelry making journal to the enth degree! I have a question, I hope it’s ok to ask. I am older , my eyes are too. Crimps are next to impossible for me to do.

I love making jewelry, so I just do wire, and, wrap the ends, it works great with my style, but my craft wire is breaking.

The last necklace was double wired, light weight beads, still both wires broke in the middle. Any suggestions?

Would a better quality wire work, or am I just out of luck?
