Mother Knows Best

When I was growing up, I never understand why my grandmother has this fascination about pearls.

Back then I considered pearls as old and outdated. Granted that I grew up in pacific island, where there are abandon of pearls. But there are other jewelry that sparkles and more interesting.

Now looking back, I regret that kind of thinking. First of all pearl price has skyrocketed. But that was also some of my fondest memories about my grandmother. She always has a smile on while putting on her favorite Julia Childs plain stands of pearls.

I guess Mother or Grandmother does know best.
