Mermaid Cove Necklace – close up
I love making fantasy-style jewelry using an Art Nouveau theme. I really love how my “Mermaid Cove” necklace turned out.
I started with an ornate vintage brass centerpiece, a seashell I collected from a beach down south, and an art nouveau style brass mermaid. I painted the shell using a water-based paint so it didn’t leave a thick residue and allowed details of the shell to shine through.

I then sealed with a protective varnish, and set it with glue atop the ornate centerpiece. I fitted the brass mermaid on top of the shell with glue.

I then added picasso czech glass beads in ocean hues to match the necklace.
Photography is equally important to me, and I try to capture a memorable scene with each piece. I decided to use more natural seashells as accents when photographing this necklace.
