Jewelry Business Card Rings
by Linda Keesee.
(Hurst, Texas US)
I found this really cute tutorial for making unique wearable business cards at “UpcycleYourLife” under the “shop Aisle 3” section.
I have a craft show that I am participating in coming up soon, so I thought I would make some and give them a try.
Maybe customers will think their cute to and pick one up and where it home and actually look up my website. I can use all the help I can get, I just opened my online shop this year, and been doing the social network thing and still not getting much traffic to my site.
I started out by printing my website’s URL on card stock. Then I glued material of my choice on the back of the card stock. Then when it dried I cut them out in strips, formed my ring, and glued it down with a dab of hot glue. Then I glued a button on top. My website is on the inside of the ring.

This is a great idea and it gives your passers by a take away to remember you by. Just wondering if you have been getting more web traffic from it.
Card rings

This is the first time I’ve made them. I am making them up for a craft fair in December. So I’m hoping they will bring me more traffic then. We will see. (-;

What an interesting and clever idea! I also like the addition of the button as a focal element. Please keep us posted on the response you get to these rings – I imagine people will think they’re absolutely charming.

Ring in your sales early

Cute and clever idea!
I would just start giving them out to people, who might be interested in what you make and sell, now! Why wait ’til December when you can get a headstart on your holiday sales and get the $$ before they spend it elsewhere.
I have been working dilligently on my own website, putting “Add to Cart” buttons with the prices and brief descriptions of everything that is for sale, one item at a time. I just set up a merchant account with PayPal recently. You can check out my stuff and my site, which I designed all of the header graphics, photographed everything that you see, and built from scratch by myself, without ever taking any computer courses. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks!

Ringing in the sales
by: Linda Keesee
Yes Linda your right, I need to start now.
I know what you mean about Old dogs learning new tricks. I to built my website myself with no experience. It was pretty stressful at times, still is sometimes ( on going process). You have a nice site, mines plain and simple, don’t have all the graphics like yours. I’m working on changing out pictures for better ones and changing to shopping cart instead of buy now.
Thanks and
Good luck with your site.

Stressfull to get started
by: Anonymous
HiLinda
I admire you both so much for how you have started your ventures.I am based in Cape Town South Africa and I love the industry so much I started making my own costume jewelry and sourcing unique designes as well. The problem is this is the type of thing you need to market and sell yourself as a sales lady doesn’t put in any effort at the markets because it’s not their own.I am employed full time and not mobile to get to the markets myself as I know my goods would move if I was there myself pushing the sales.
Please tell me how I would go about creating my own website as I also do not have the finances to call on a professional.I want to start a online shop and how do I get traffic to my site?
Thank you so much.

Starting online Business
by: Marla
Like you I wasn’t sure how to market my jewelry online. I too didn’t have the finances to hire someone. I highly recommend Rena Klingenberg’s ebook “Social Networking: Sell your jewelry online.” Tremendous help for me. I was very limited in my computer knowledge. I could barely manage my way around Facebook. I’m in the process of photographing my inventory. A cumbersome task.

Just wanted to let y’all know card rings were a hit. Everyone loved them. Haven’t seen to much of increase of traffic yet.
Anonymous,
I used yahoo site builder to build my site. It was still a lot of work. But I was able to email for help if I wasn’t able to find it in the online help menu.
Marla,
Thanks for the tip on the “Social Networking” book by Rene Klingenberg.

This is such an awesome idea !! NEW
by: KimW.
I am a scrapbooker/card maker as well as a jewelry creator, so I have tons of cardstock and pretty designer papers all over the place. This would be a great idea to “steal” !! I have never heard of business card rings, but it makes perfect sense for the jewelry business, thanks for sharing !!!
